If you ever catch The Millionaire Matchmaker, Patti Stanger is a woman who knows her business. She also knows a few things about smart skin care. During the episode that aired tonight, April 16, 2009, Patti emphasizes exactly what we here at Tantrum fully believe in- Having a beautiful tan- as fake as it may be- because it's safer. Her exact words were "I have a fake tan! And I do it because I don't want cancer!".Spoken like a true champ.
Tanning is fast becoming the new black sheep of behavior. More and more research comes out on a daily basis that proves that tanning is directly linked to the development of melanoma. I have several clients and have talked to a million girls who are avid tanners until the day they go to the doctor and moles come back as pre-cancerous. Then all of a sudden they panic and want to take care of their skin and their bodies and don't know how.
That's were we come in.
I could go on and on about research and statistical data and clinical studies that proves all this mumbo jumbo, but all you have to do is open a magazine or watch a little tv to know that it's true, so I won't bore you here. But I will say that when Patti stated that she doesn't tan because she doesn't want to get cancer---- she officially became the smartest woman in all of LA. She's not being a businesswoman. She isn't marketing. She isn't advertising. She's simply being smart. Very, very smart.
